combining and splitting SesKion license-file features
Concept of features
SesKion license files, “seskionLicense.xml”, are standard xml formatted files that may be edited with any text-editor or better xml editor. The license file is made up of one or several license items, called features.
The following example shows 3 features enclosed into xml <feature> tags:
Enabling the WinGUI of a PSI5-Simulyzer
Enabling the WinGUI of a SPI-Simulyzer
Enabling a specific SPI-Simulyzer sensor model
Copy to Clipboard
Hash of feature
Each feature is secured with a xml tag. This makes it impossible to change anything inside the feature, because this would make the hash invalid.
Since the hash spans just the feature, it is possible to cut or copy a feature and insert it to a different license file.
If, like the example above the SPI_LicensedSensorModels is bound to a serial number (serNo) of a box, this feature will work on any PC, but only withe the box of the correct serial number,
However, if the license is bound to a certain PC by use of diskID and macAddr, this feature will not work on a different PC.
But in the example above, the first feature is related to a PSI5-Simulyzer and and the second and third feature are related to a SPI-Simulyzer. Therefore the license files for both Simulyzer types are at different locations.
PSI5-Simulyzer licenses at C:\ProgramData\SesKion GmbH\PSI5_Simulyzer
SPI-Simulyzer licenses at C:\ProgramData\SesKion GmbH\SPI_Simulyzer
So you may split this license file up into 2 license files, the first one with one feature for a the PSI5-Simulyzer and the second one for the SPI-Simulyzer
But be carefull: do not change anything inside the complete <feature%gt; tag section!
If you will receive, at a later time, an additional license file with one ore more new features and you already have a license file with features, you have to copy the feature sections of the new file and insert it to your existing license file.
